Appointed Person..
Where an employer’s assessment for the First Aid needs,
identifies that a four-day FAW qualification is not
necessary, the minimum employers requirement is to appoint a
person to take charge of the First Aid arrangements.
This includes looking after the equipment and facilities,
and calling emergency services when required. Arrangements
should be made for an Appointed Person to be available for
these duties at all times when people are at work.
Note: An appointed Person is not a First Aider and should not attempt to give First Aid for which
they have not been trained,

The course can deliver the One-Day course for up to 12
delegates. Gtec is able to modify the content of the course
according to your specific areas of risk.

The one day course includes tea, coffee, practical and
theoretical training by a fully qualified HSE first aid
instructor.

One day course.
A minimum six-hour programme (one day) for those who wish
to gain knowledge of emergency procedures and attain a
recognised qualification in First Aid.
Course Aims.
By the end of the course, candidates will be able to
demonstrate the essential knowledge and skills needed with
threatening emergencies in the workplace.
The Award.
The course tutor will carry out an on-going assessment
and successful students will receive a certificate
recognised by the Health and Safety Executive - valid for a
period of three years.
